Chicago Climate Futures Exchange® (CCFE®), a Commodity Futures Trading Commission Designated Contract Market, announced today the successful completion of the first-ever Massachusetts Renewable Energy Certificate (REC-MA) futures contract trade.
The trade, completed on Jan. 27, 2010, was for 80 Massachusetts vintage 2009 REC contracts (representing 8,000 MA Class 1 RECs).
In addition to the REC-MA contract, CCFE also lists standardized futures contracts requiring delivery of Connecticut (REC-CT) and New Jersey (REC-NJ) Class 1 RECs, and voluntary Green-e® Energy National Standard eligible RECs (REC-V).
Current open interest across all of the RECs traded on CCFE is at a record high of 2,890 contracts.
