Bursa Malaysia recognised nine of its Market Chat 2009/2010 partners for their support of the Exchange's investor education initiative at the Asia Trader and Investor Convention 2010 on Saturday, 20 March, 2010. The partners recognised were Affin Investment Bank, CIMB Investment Bank, Hong Leong Investment Bank, JF Apex Securities, Jupiter Securities, Maybank Investment Bank, Mercury Securities, MIMB Investment Bank and RHB Investment Bank.
Market Chat 2009/2010 roadshows have so far covered 52 locations around Malaysia and will be held at four more locations before it comes to close at the end of this month. The nationwide roadshows have attracted more than 7,000 participants and culminated in close to 1,600 CDS accounts being opened through brokers and investment banks at the various locations.
The roadshow which started in October 2009 is in its third year. It features informative forums by industry experts to deliberate market issues and investment dos and don'ts, in accordance to the needs and risk appetites of investors.

create a sustainable investor base and have a vibrant and efficient market for all.
"It is important that investors are well-informed and keep themselves up-to-date of the
changes in the global economic landscape and investment trends, for them to strategise their
investment plans and to create a portfolio in the long run." he added.
Bursa Malaysia sees itself as a catalyst in educating retail investors on the importance of information-based investing. The Market Chat roadshows demonstrate the Exchange's long-term commitment to engage and educate the younger investing population on becoming well-informed investors.
